PCB to Hire a Psychologist for Pakistan Team After Zimbabwe Series

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking to hire a psychologist for the national team players at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC). The vacancy has been posted on PCB’s official website.

Pakistan cricket team has been widely regarded in the cricketing fraternity as ‘mentally weak.’ Their inability to handle pressure often leads to unwanted collapses.

The practice of hiring a psychologist has been widely used in various sports around the world. Plenty of experts and cricketing journalists had previously urged PCB to hire a psychologist for the players, and finally, the board has decided to hire one.

According to the job description, the psychologist will be required to manage players’ psychology-related performance and help them deal with their personal and professional issues. The psychologist will not only work with the players but will also be required to work with the national team coaches and management.

Elsewhere, PCB is also looking to hire a new Chief Medical Officer after former CMO, Dr. Sohail Saleem, resigned last month due to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) postponement.
