In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Punjab government has decided to shut down all educational institutions in the province.
According to the official notification, all public and private educational institutions all over Punjab will remain closed from 29 April till the Eid holidays.

Besides, the Punjab government has also decided to change the operating hours of businesses across the province. Now, all but essential businesses across the province will remain closed from 6 PM till Sehri.
Interprovincial transport will remain suspended in Punjab on Saturdays and Sundays while the closure of shrines in all districts of the province has been extended till 17 May.

The Punjab government has also decided to promote the use of facemasks through community-level and media awareness campaigns.
While the provincial government has directed all district administrations to remain mobile to ensure strict compliance with facemask-wearing practice, mainstream media has been notified to provide mass coverage to punitive actions taken as a result of violations of COVID-19 SOPs.
