Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has launched a toll-free helpline to allow the public to report malpractices such as profiteering and hoarding medicines.
According to details, citizens can call at 0800-03727 to report any wrongdoings and irregularities of pharmacies to the country’s apex drug regulator.

The recent development comes after media reports claimed that pharmacies all across the country have been hoarding a wide range of life-saving drugs to trigger artificial inflation and panic in the drug market.
Apart from reporting malpractices of pharmacies, citizens can also seek information of any kind by calling the toll-free helpline of DRAP.

Last month, DRAP prohibited medical practitioners in the public and private sectors from writing brand names of medicines in prescriptions.
DRAP directed all provincial healthcare departments to ensure medical practitioners prescribe medicines only with their generic names.
