NCOC Announces Decision on Stricter Restrictions Before Eid

On Sunday, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) reviewed the COVID-19 situation and subsequent lockdown restrictions in the country.

During NCOC’s meeting, Federal Planning Minister, Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, said that strict lockdown restrictions will remain enforced till the end of Eid holidays with a few exceptions.

Here are all the decisions which NCOC took on Sunday:

Grocery stores, bakeries, vegetable, fruit, chicken, and meat shops, petrol pumps, food takeaways and home deliveries will remain exempted from lockdown restrictions during Eid holidays.

Pharmacies and medical stores and medical facilities including vaccination centers will remain open during the Eid holidays.

Media houses, call centers of internet and cellular networks, and utility services (electricity and natural gas) will operate in routine.

On the other hand, all tourist resorts, public parks, hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls in and around tourist spots will remain closed till the end of the Eid holidays.

Travel nodes leading to tourist sports including Murree, Galliyat, Swat, Kalam, Northern Areas, and sea view and beaches will remain closed as well.

Interprovincial and inter-city travel will also remain suspended during the same period. However, private vehicles, taxis, and rickshaws will be allowed to operate on 50% capacity till further orders.
