Rs500m allocated for women’s empowerment says, Sheeran

While speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new building of the women development department on Saturday, Mahjabeen Sheeran- Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development said that Rs500m allocated for women’s empowerment and development in the 2021-22 budget of Balochistan.

Mahjabeen Sheeran stated that great initiatives and projects are being launched at both regional and district level by women development department in order to provide facilities to the women of the area & for their betterment.

She told the media reporters that “The government has allocated Rs500m for the economic empowerment of women in the Public Sector Development Program for the current financial year, which will do wonders for the uplift of women in the province,”.

The parliamentary secretary also said that the provincial government has been committed to enhancing the situation of women in the province, especially for education of girls, for which several projects are currently being taken.

According to the Ms. Sheeran, various centers for women’s empowerment were being set up in the province. “We are also going to establish digital libraries for women,” she further added.

She said the women development department would also tackle the problems encountered by the women imprisoned in jails of the province. “Six women facilitation centers will be set up in the central jails of Balochistan,” she added.

she further said that the provincial Govt has been implementing the vision and goal of CM Jam Kamal Alyani for women’s empowerment so that they can play a significant role in the success and prosperity of Balochistan.
