Afridi believes that the players currently included in the national team are the best available in the country, and they have made it into the international arena due to their performances in the domestic circuit and their talent.

“At present, the players representing the Pakistan national team are the best we have in terms of talent and ability. These players have performed consistently in recent times. In fact, some of them have been performing for a considerable time period. These are our best players. They are the ones whose talent we have to utilize,” Afridi said.

“We need to keep them motivated and hungry for success. We need to support the players in tough times, as a cricket fan and former player,” he added.

The 44-year old was disappointed at the way Pakistan lost the three-match series. He said that winning and losing are part of the game but losing without putting up any fight is unacceptable. He said that the Pakistan team needs to evolve its game plan and play according to the requirements of the modern game.

Star all-rounder was hopeful that the players would learn from their mistakes and perform much better in the upcoming T20I series. He believes that the national team has all the required tools to be a top contender for the upcoming T20 World Cup in UAE.
