Elon Musk’s Starlink Wants to Launch Internet Services in Pakistan

Today (Monday), a delegation from Starlink, which is a US-based global satellite broadband provider, paid a visit to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters in Islamabad. The members included Ryan Goodnight, Director Middle East & Asia, and Ben Macwilliam, Head of Global Site Acquisition.

Chairman PTA informed Starlink’s officials that PTA would support them in accordance with Pakistan’s regulatory framework for Starlink’s operations.

He further briefed Starlink representatives on the Prime Minister’s vision for Digital Pakistan and the opportunities for quality broadband internet in Pakistan’s developing market.

Moreover, the two parties addressed the deployment of satellite broadband access in Pakistan as well as Starlink’s future plans for connecting Pakistan to their worldwide network during the discussion.

The delegation met with Maj General Amir Azeem Bajwa (R), Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, and the Executive Director of the Frequency Allocation Board.
