Karachi University declares Failed Doctors successful in MS exams

Two medical doctors from KMDC (Karachi Medical & Dental College) who failed their Master of Science in ENT final examination at the University of Karachi were proclaimed successful by KU without alerting the panel of examiners.

Prof Iqbal Khyani, Prof Ismail Hirani, Prof Salman Matiullah, Prof Iqbal Udiapurwala, , Prof Iqbal Khan, and Prof Muhammad Zubair are part of a panel of six senior doctors who have written to the Sindh Higher Education Commission, the universities and boards department, and KU to express their dissatisfaction with the two doctors’ results.

They informed KU’s acting vice chancellor on January 8 that the MS in ENT exam, which included a viva and practical, had been held at the Khyber Medical and Dental College, where Dr. Baseer Ahmed and Dr. Yousaf were assessed by a panel of six prominent doctors.

In their letter, they added, “We, the panel of examiners for the aforementioned exam, were startled to check the results declaring both candidates successful despite their low performance in the oral and practical examinations.”
