The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), operating under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, is preparing to deploy Assistant English Language teachers to public schools in Japan.
Job Details
According to an official source, Japan urgently requires 30 Assistant English Language Teachers. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least one year of experience, and be between 24 and 45 years old. Both genders are eligible to apply. The role offers a salary of up to 220,000 yen, free transportation, and will be on a one-year contract from April 7, 2025, to March 24, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must have no criminal record, be fit for work (with a recent medical certificate), and demonstrate financial stability. For the Private Residence Track, they need to have at least 600,000 yen after covering flight expenses. For the Shared Accommodation Track, a minimum of 300,000 yen is required.
Additional Application Instructions
Candidates must include a ‘Self-Introduction Video’ of up to three minutes with their CV. They must be available for training sessions by M/s Borderlink in Pakistan and be able to reach their designated locations in Japan by March 31, 2025.
Housing and Preference
Applicants for the Private Residence Track will need to cover upfront apartment costs of 250,000 to 350,000 yen. For the Shared Accommodation Track, they must agree to share housing for at least a year from the start date. Preference will be given to those with basic Japanese skills and relevant certifications such as local teaching certificates, TESOL, TOEFL, and/or CELTA.
