Changan Deepal has unveiled official interior photos of the L07 sedan which is yet to be launched internationally.
What’s interesting is that Changan recently launched a car named Deepal L07 in Pakistan. The Pakistani car is known as the SL03 sedan in China but the management in Pakistan decided to follow the naming scheme from Thailand.
The Chinese Deepal L07 is different, and a result of a collaboration between Changan’s Deepal brand and Huawei, which may explain the advanced intelligent technology featured in the vehicle. However, detailed information about the car’s features is still limited. It is anticipated that the L07 will include Huawei’s Qiankun ADS SE, a vision-based smart driving system first introduced in the Deepal S07.
Although it resembles the existing SL03 sedan, the two vehicles cater to different market segments. The L07 emphasizes intelligent technology, whereas the SL03 focuses on sportiness, and both models will be available concurrently.
The new L07 is slightly longer than the SL03, with a 55 mm difference in length.
The interior differences between the L07 and SL03 are more pronounced. The L07 adopts a design language similar to the Deepal S07, featuring a 15.6-inch infotainment screen and an augmented reality head-up display, while the SL03 includes an additional LCD instrument panel. A notable change in the L07 is the introduction of a three-spoke steering wheel, replacing the two-spoke design seen in previous Deepal models.
Between the center console and the dashboard, the L07 includes a fragrance dispenser in front of a dual wireless mobile phone charging pad and a pair of drink holders. Users can choose between two interior color schemes: black with a reddish-brown accent and black with a beige accent.
Externally, the L07 closely resembles the SL03. It is available in extended-range EV and all-electric versions, with no distinct external features to differentiate the two. The dimensions of the L07 are 4875 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. For comparison, the SL03 measures 4820 mm in length, with the same width, height, and wheelbase dimensions.
The all-electric variant of the L07 is equipped with a 248 HP electric motor. In the range-extended version, a 1.5-liter engine producing up to 96 HP is used for charging, while a 214 HP electric motor powers the wheels.
The exact launch date for the new model has not been announced, but it is expected to be released later this year.
