Indus Motor Company Limited (PSX: INDU) Monday announced a three day plant shutdown due to supply chain challenges.
In a notice to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the auto manufacturers said that it is currently having low level of inventory of raw materials & components and facing continuous supply chain challenges, resulting in shortages of parts and components for manufacturing of vehicles.
“Under these circumstances, the Company is unable to meet its production requirements. Therefore, the Company has decided to temporarily close its Production Plant from August 6, 2024, to August 8, 2024, inclusive of both dates,” the notice said further.
This is the second plant shut down by the company in the last month. Earlier, on July 12, the company announced an eight day plant shut down from 15th July 2024 to 22nd July 2024 (both days inclusive).
INDU is the sole distributor of Toyota and Daihatsu vehicles in Pakistan and has a license for assembling, progressive manufacturing and marketing of these vehicles in Pakistan.
