Beenish Fatima Breaks Ground as Rawalpindi’s First Female CTO

Superintendent of Police (SP) Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Beenish Fatima, is set to replace Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan on Friday, becoming the new CTO of Rawalpindi.

Fatima, who is also the daughter-in-law of a former Inspector General of Police Punjab, will be the third woman to hold the CTO position in Punjab. Ammara Athar currently serves as CTO Lahore, while Aisha Butt holds the CTO position in Gujranwala.

Additionally, Fatima will be the first woman to serve as CTO in Rawalpindi since the establishment of the City Traffic Police in 2007.

CTO Taimoor Khan, who has been in office since November 18, 2022, officially stepped down from his position. His departure was marked by a warm farewell, where traffic wardens showered him with flowers. Khan expressed his gratitude to the traffic officers and employees, embracing them as he said his goodbyes.

During his tenure, Khan implemented various reforms, such as establishing new traffic police-run driving schools and opening new driving learner and licensing centers at different locations.
