New FBR Chairman Seeks Briefing on Tajir Dost Scheme 

The newly appointed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial has directed the Member Operations Mir Badshah Khan Wazir to provide a briefing on Tajir Dost Scheme.

Sources said that the high ups of FBR briefed the newly appointed chairman on the organizational structure besides the ongoing policy level initiative, including Tajir Dost Scheme as well as FBR digitization on Thursday.

It is pertinent to note that FBR, after consultation with trader bodies, notified new income tax rates for 42 cities.

The trades under the law are bound to pay tax on a monthly basis, and if someone does not pay, then FBR will take action against the traders.

Sources said that the chairman also directed different Directorate of FBR to prepare a presentation. Sources said that the top most priority of chairman is to collect maximum taxes.

Recently, FBR has also forwarded different tax related proposals to the finance minister in case the government faces any shortfall.
