Toyota Dominates The List of Longest-Lasting Vehicles

Some automotive brands have consistently ranked at the top of longevity studies, and as vehicles have become more durable over the years, these brands continue to lead the way. iSeeCars recently analyzed over 402 million vehicles to identify the models most likely to reach 250,000 miles (400,000 KM) or more. The results, which include many well-known brands, are unlikely to surprise anyone familiar with the industry.

Toyota emerged as the top-ranked brand in this study, with its vehicles most likely to reach the quarter-million-mile mark. The top five vehicles in the study were all Toyotas, led by Tundra, which boasts a 36.6% chance of surpassing 250,000 miles. The other models in the top five include the Sequoia, 4Runner, Tacoma, and Highlander Hybrid.

These vehicles from top brands outperform the rest by significant margins. The list underscores the dominance of Toyota and Honda, both of which have a strong history of producing long-lasting vehicles.

The Ram 3500 stands out with a 42.6% chance of reaching 250,000 miles, followed closely by the Toyota Tundra, Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD, and Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. These trucks’ longevity can be largely credited to their robust build and the rigorous maintenance schedules typically followed by fleet operators and commercial owners.

Breaking down the categories, SUVs dominated the list, occupying 16 of the top 30 spots. Pickup trucks followed with eight models, while sedans held four slots. This reinforces the trend of SUVs and trucks being preferred for their durability and versatility.
