CM Punjab Announces Interest-Free Housing Loans

On Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme to offer affordable housing.

She highlighted the government’s dedication to rapidly constructing homes for those in need, expressing pride in the scheme’s successful creation and promising swift access to housing for the public.

She announced that the government will provide a Rs. 15 lac interest-free loan for purchasing 5 marla plots in urban areas and 10 marla plots in rural regions. Furthermore, the scheme includes a three-month grace period with no payments required.

Maryam Nawaz outlined the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme’s affordability, stating that the monthly installment would be Rs. 14,000. The Chief Minister also announced plans for Pakistan’s largest solar program, set to launch next year.

She hopes that this initiative will eventually eliminate the need for electricity bills. Maryam Nawaz explained the application process for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme, noting that interested individuals can apply online through the PITB portal or call 080009100 for assistance.

She assured that the system would be rolled out in all major cities of Punjab. The chief minister detailed that the houses built under this scheme will include two bedrooms, a TV lounge, a bathroom, and a “decent-sized” kitchen.
