Dozens of Teachers Suspended for Missing Exam Duties

The District Education Authority has suspended 56 teachers for failing to report for duty during the supplementary board exams in Lahore.

An investigation by the education department revealed that several teachers deliberately turned off their phones or refused to carry out their assigned duties on the day of the exams.

The inquiry report pointed to significant administrative issues caused by the absenteeism of these teachers.

The absence of invigilators led to a shortage of staff at exam centers, resulting in delays and challenges in preventing cheating.

Sources indicated that students retaking their exams faced unnecessary difficulties due to the lack of staff, which also compromised the overall exam environment.

The District Education Authority has stated that disciplinary action will be taken against the 56 teachers under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline, and Accountability (PEDA) Act.
