The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has announced a significant change to the national education system: all educational boards nationwide will now mandate a minimum of seven passing marks for students.
This decision was reached during a sub-committee meeting at the Karachi Secondary Education Board, where various proposals were reviewed to improve academic standards.
Additionally, starting the next academic year, the passing marks for students will be raised from 33 to 40. This change was disclosed by IBCC Executive Director Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah during a press conference on Tuesday.
As part of a broader educational reform initiative, Dr. Mallah also revealed that students would be eligible for grace marks in their exams, further supporting the transition to the new requirements.
