Whispers about a design overhaul for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra have been circulating for months, with speculation centering on a more ergonomic form factor.
The latest rumor suggests that Samsung’s pursuit of a comfortable grip won’t come at the expense of portability. If the rumors hold, the S25 Ultra is poised to be remarkably thin and light. Leaked information hints that the S25 Ultra will outdo both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL in the slimness and weight categories.
While official dimensions for Apple’s upcoming flagship remain under wraps until its September 9th unveiling, the Pixel 9 Pro XL provides a useful benchmark. It measures 8.5mm in thickness and tips the scales at 221g. In contrast, the current-generation Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in at 8.6mm thick and weighs a slightly heftier 232g.
Based on these figures, industry watchers are predicting a Galaxy S25 Ultra with a maximum thickness of 8.4mm and a weight of 220g or less.
Renowned Chinese leaker, Ice Universe, claims that the S25 Ultra won’t just surpass the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL in terms of slimness and lightness, but will outdo all upcoming “Ultra” flagship phones. His claim does not mention any specific phones, but we can assume he means Ultra phones from other OEMs such as the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and vivo X200 Ultra, all slated to hit the market in the coming months.
If these rumors prove accurate, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will represent a notable achievement in smartphone design, packing top-tier features into an exceptionally sleek and light package.
