Rumors are swirling that the OnePlus 13 could arrive earlier than expected, potentially launching in late October or early November.
This unexpected release, hinted at by renowned leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, would coincide with the debut of Qualcomm’s latest chips. An early launch would also position the OnePlus 13 perfectly for the holiday shopping season. In China, the OnePlus 13 could be unveiled ahead of Singles’ Day on November 11th. This major shopping event, the largest in the country, could translate into a significant sales boost for the new phone.
The OnePlus 13 could be one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. Rumors suggest the phone could be unveiled shortly after Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for October 24th. The reports have also said that Xiaomi has exclusive rights to release the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phone, the Xiaomi 14.
This would be a significant departure from the launch timelines of previous OnePlus models. For instance, the OnePlus 12 was launched in December last year and hit the market in January, while the OnePlus 11 debuted in February 2022.
Numerous leaks and rumors have hinted at the OnePlus 13’s impressive specs. The phone is expected to pack a massive 6,000 mAh battery, a result of OnePlus adopting its new Glacier Battery technology. However, this change might come at the expense of wireless charging capabilities. The camera system is also rumored for a major upgrade, with a triple-camera array expected to be prominently featured in the center of the phone’s back.
